How it works

A little care goes a long way.

A daily visit can take less than a minute. Stay longer when you feel like it.

  1. 1 Tell them how today feels

Tap the weather, your energy, and what you need. When the day feels heavy, Mipkin offers gentler things.

  2. 2 Choose one small thing

Three are offered each day, and one is plenty. Each one earns a little Warmth. Warmth is never sold.

  3. 3 Come home to something new

Warmth brings new things into the room. Your Mipkin wanders, finds keepsakes, and grows through adventures, never days in a row.

One Mipkin will find you

Mipkins

Ten Mipkins at launch, shown exactly as they are in the app. You will not choose one from a grid. A short, mostly wordless ritual brings one through. The Mipkin who finds you is yours.

Nettle, the app's fox-rabbit Mipkin

Nettle of the Hearth

A curious fox-rabbit Mipkin with a lantern tail. Nettle is alert warmth on four small feet.

Bright chirps, warm lantern chimes, and quick pleased huffs.

Poffle, the app's capybara-cloud Mipkin

Poffle of the Conservatory

A capybara-cloud with a cumulus tail and a raindrop pendant. Poffle is a steady shelter and never in a hurry.

Soft rain taps, sleepy hums, and a tiny thunder puff.

Kittibug, the app's cat-moth Mipkin

Kittibug of the Observatory

A cat-moth with folded eyespot wings, curled antennae, and a crescent moon in the crook of her tail.

Restrained huffs, velvet trills, and a soft wing shimmer.

Tussock, the app's hedgehog-mole Mipkin

Tussock of the Conservatory

A hedgehog-mole with a crown of quills and a seed-pod lamp.

Low snuffles, rustling quills, and a contented burr.

Sundrop, the app's bumble-cub Mipkin

Sundrop of the Hearth

A striped bumble-cub with little wings and a honey drop.

A soft wing hum, small bright chirrs, and a drowsy buzz.

Hoplin, the app's frog-sprout Mipkin

Hoplin of the Conservatory

A frog-sprout on wide webbed feet, with a seedling for a cowlick and a lit toadstool held up like a parasol.

Round wet croaks, a rustle of leaves, and a pleased little gulp.

Pipwick, the app's owl-mouse Mipkin

Pipwick of the Observatory

An owl-mouse in a wing-cloak, with a heart-shaped face, feather horns, and one star kept in a little cage.

Small querying hoots, a papery flutter, and a mouse-quiet squeak.

Twinket, the app's flying-squirrel Mipkin

Twinket of the Observatory

A flying squirrel wearing her glide membrane like a cape, with a plume taller than she is and a comet-pebble slung from it.

Quick excitable chitters, a rush of air, and a satisfied trill.

Cindle, the app's salamander-pup Mipkin

Cindle of the Hearth

A salamander-pup with feathery gills, a ridged back, and a clay cup of live embers on her tail.

A low contented crackle, soft clicks, and a sound like a log settling.

Brackle, the app's lichen-fawn Mipkin

Brackle of the Conservatory

A lichen-fawn on folded legs, dappled down the flank, with a crown of antlers still in velvet and a woven lantern at her hip.

Soft bleats, a rustle of dry grass, and a long steady breath.

Inside the app

A small life you build together.

These are real screens from the current app, with a Mipkin just getting settled in.

The bond

Keep the story of your time together.

Your Mipkin's page tells you how your bond is growing. There is no score to chase. Growth counts wanders taken, not days in a row.

Every keepsake they bring home joins the collection. The empty spaces hint at how much there is left to find.

Two journals

Somewhere to put the day down.

Your pages begin with a gentle question, such as "What is unfinished, and is that alright?" Tap for another whenever you need it. You write on your phone, and your words stay on your phone.

Your Mipkin keeps a journal too, about where they went and what they found. Yours is yours. Theirs is theirs.

The journal in the app: Your Pages with the prompt 'What is unfinished, and is that alright?', and the Mipkin's own entry 'The day I found a tiny spiral shell'

The stalls

Find something new for the room.

The stalls restock on their own schedule. Everything here is priced in Warmth, which you earn through small things and adventures. Warmth is never sold.

Plus adds more decor to discover, but everything your Mipkin needs is free.

The off switch

Take a real break.

Turn on quiet mode and the phone goes quiet. There is no streak to save and nothing to repair when you return. A day away is already free.

You can also export your data as a file or delete it from the device. Neither action depends on us.

Settings in the app: private-by-default controls, gentle haptics, a local reminder, and optional reflections

Where they live

Every Mipkin needs a place to feel at home.

A Nook is their room. Tap the things inside, watch the light change with the hour, and make it feel like theirs. Here is a first look at all five:

The Hearth in the app: a Mipkin by a lit fireplace, with rain at the window
The HearthTimber, blankets, lamps, and rain.
The Conservatory in the app: Fern the Poffle among potted plants, vines, and a water basin
The ConservatoryStone, plants, water, and moss.
The Observatory in the app: Juniper the Kittibug beside a telescope and an orrery under a dusk sky
The ObservatoryMoonlit shelves, star maps, and curios.
The Burrow in the app: Quillow the Tussock under a root larder stocked with acorns, beside a lit tunnel out
The BurrowRoots, a full larder, and one way out.
The Loft in the app: Comb the Sundrop under a honeycomb hive, with a shaft of light from the gable window and stacked crates
The LoftBare boards, a round window, and dust in the light.

You begin in your Mipkin's own room. Plus opens the doors between all five.

Our promise

Move at your own pace.

Your Mipkin will be glad to see you, whether you were gone for an afternoon or a month.

  • Ad slots. No ad slots, no ad breaks, at any price.
  • Streaks you can buy back. Rest days are free, and your best run stays with you.
  • Energy for sale. Nothing you need to care for your Mipkin runs out.
  • Warmth for cash. Warmth is always earned.
  • Fake urgency. Offers only expire when the terms say they do.
  • Manufactured countdowns. Mipkin never ticks down by the second to pressure you.
  • Guilt. Your Mipkin does not count what you missed.
  • Paywalled care. Everything your Mipkin needs is free.

Local by default. No account is needed for the core app. Your Mipkin, your check-ins, and everything you write live in your phone's storage by default. Reflections, visiting, private friends, account backup, and care cues are separate optional features; each uses only the limited data described in our privacy policy.

Questions

A few things you may be wondering.

Is it really free?

Yes. The free app includes your Mipkin, every growth stage, check-ins, quests, adventures, keepsakes, both journals, breathing, grounding, the worry box, looking back over your time together, the shop, and the support route. Plus adds more rooms, themes, reflections, and space to welcome more Mipkins.

How do I cancel Plus?

Subscriptions are billed and cancelled through the store. On iPhone, go to Settings, your name, then Subscriptions. On Android, open Payments and subscriptions in the Play Store. Cancelling stops the next renewal and leaves the current period running.

Where does my data live?

Core Mipkin data lives on your phone by default. No account is required for your Mipkin, journal, or Nook. Reflections, visiting, private friends, account backup, and care cues are separate choices with limited data use explained in our privacy policy. An optional account can recover a linked visiting code. If you separately turn on backup, it can also recover Mipkin progress, Nook choices, inventory, and settings. It never backs up journal text, reflection text, or worry-box entries. Export gives you a local file, and delete removes local data from the device.

What happens if I disappear for a month?

Nothing bad. A quiet day costs nothing, your longest run is kept, and there is nothing to buy or repair. Growth counts wanders taken, never days in a row. Come back after a fortnight or a month and everything will be where you left it, with a playful return story waiting for you.

Do the Mipkins use AI?

The Mipkins themselves do not. Their moods, journals, and stories are written by people. The one AI feature is reflections. If you turn it on, the text of one journal page is sent to an AI service that writes one short reflection back. Nothing else is sent, the text is not kept, and the feature stays off until you choose it.

When does it launch?

Soon, on iPhone and Android. There is no launch list or countdown. When the door opens, it will be right here. Questions in the meantime go to a human at support@mipkin.app.

Mipkin: a soft place to land. Poffle, the generic Mipkin used as the brand mark, sits beside the wordmark.
